Presidents Page December 2010

It’s snowing outside as I sit here trying to compose this monthly message. The Christmas season is just a few weeks away and I imagine everyone is getting a little busier with all the preparations for the upcoming festivities. I’m very lucky that my wife Christina takes care of most of the gift buying and inside decorating. My biggest job is putting up our annual light display. We have somewhere near 7,000 lights that have to be strung on the house and shrubs. A lot of them are mini-lights so it really doesn’t look like there is that many. I think that the price of electricity this year may cut down on the amount of time that we have our lights lit but they will be up and on for at least the last two weeks before Christmas.
We haven’t had many club activities this past month but the next few weeks should be quite busy. As always keep your newsletter handy as all our upcoming events are listed in it.
Thanks to the generosity of many of our members that attended the November meeting, our special auction to raise funds for the Christmas party was a huge success. A large number of items were bought by some very generous bidders. Our honorary auctioneer (Dave Lemkay) did an amazing job. Thanks Dave and all those that donated items for the auction.
Our next meeting will be Wednesday Dec.1st at the Champlain Trail Museum. For all those that can’t make the meeting or the Christmas Party I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. To those that can be there I’ll see you then.

Wayne
