President's Page April 2011

Well it’s here! Spring has sprung, the snow is almost gone and it’s time to make plans for the coming season.
Don’t forget to mark the dates of June 9-12 this year for the upcoming celebration of Renfrew County’s 150 years. This should be quite a celebration as a lot of plans are being made by various groups to entertain the crowds. I know many of us will attend the car show and I am sure there will be other events that will interest us. I know one of the contestants in the Renfrew County Idol contest and I would like to take in some of that competition.
At the last meeting we discussed having another club rodeo this year and those plans are underway. Hopefully at the next meeting we can set a date for the rodeo and form a committee to oversee the event. Our gracious hosts of last year’s rodeo have once again offered their property as the location of this year’s event. So the location is set. Thank you Ray and Julie, your hospitality is second to none. Anyone interested in joining the committee please don’t be shy, we had a great time last year and I’m sure this year will be just as much fun.
I have finally gotten back to working on my Mustang. It seems the more parts I install the more parts I find that are missing. That’s what you get when you buy a basket case like I did. The nice thing is all the parts I need are available. There isn’t much you can’t buy for the restoration of the early mustangs. Hopefully it will see the road early this summer.
Our next monthly meeting will be held at the River Club on the Quebec side. I am sure the weather will be better this time than the last time we had a meeting there. The dinner will begin at 6pm with the meeting to follow. Those people that were at the last dinner there enjoyed the fare so if you are up for a pleasant meal or just want to attend the meeting please join us on the evening of April 6th. Hope to see you there.

Wayne
